Supplemental LED grow lights also contribute to starting plants earlier and lush, rapid growth. Solexx "Diffused Light" Greenhouse
Grow4it Exterior Grow4it Interior The foundation for this system is the robust Solexx "Diffused LIght" Garden Master Greenhouse, which safely produces the best possible light for your plants. Diffused light and direct light are very different. Diffused light scatters in many different angles so the light energy reaches all areas of the greenhouse. With the Solexx insulated covering material, even the bottom bench shelves (included with greenhouse) are bathed in warm diffused light. This dramatically increases plant growth as the entire plant is engaged in growing process, not just the top leaves. Plants create food from light so the type of light they receive is important. Plants exposed to direct light (no diffusion) produce a majority of their food from the top leaves facing the sun. Direct light also creates excessive heat which causes plant stress. When a plant is immersed in diffused light, all the leaves can photosynthesize and the entire plant is engaged in growth resulting in more food production and healthier, lush plant development. SmartStart Cubes Seedlings In SmartStart Cubes Are Placed Into The Root Spas Manufactured from composted organic materials, the SmartStart seed starting cubes have a great spongy texture which retains an ideal air to water ratio for healthy, rapid root growth. SmartStart Seed Starter Cubes are specially inoculated with micro-nutrients, which help to nourish the young seedlings and naturally aids the root development process in young plants. Organic Plant Starter cubes are pre-moistened so they are ready to use right out of the bag. When the plant is ready the cube and seedling are easily placed into the Root Spas Accelerated Root Growth System. LED Grow Lights
LED Grow Light Fixture LED Grow Light Close-Up LED grow lights are an amazing addition to this system. LED Grow Lights are long-lasting with a recommended useful lifetime of 50,000 hours, the equivalent of burning a light for 18 hours a day, 365 days a year for seven years and seven months with no light degradation. LED Grow Lights are economical to run using 75% less power than HID lighting. LED Grow Lights are warm to the touch and produce very little heat. No special ventilation or air conditioning is needed which reduces or eliminates power consumption caused by extra blowers and air conditioning systems. LED Grow Lights are better for plant growth. Plants do not use all parts of the spectrum equally. This is because photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll and carotene absorb light very strongly at particular wavelengths. Using the right colours in the proper proportions, the performance of LED lighting can be optimized. Plants can use nearly all of the light emitted from LED Grow Lights while only about 10% of the power used and about 35% of the light generated by metal halide lamps is useful for plant growth. Other indoor growing lights use technology designed to light rooms and buildings, making them very bright to the human eye. LED plant lighting delivers light that is very bright to plants, but relatively dim to people. LED grow lights contains no mercury and are an environmentally superior choice. Metallic vapor and fluorescent lamps all contain mercury, a heavy metal identified by the U.S. Government as hazardous to the environment and our landfills. Root Spas - Accelerated Root Growth System
Grow Salad Greens All Year Healthy Accelerated Root Growth The Root Spas system accelerates the growing process tremendously. As the Root Spas mix water with air it adds extra oxygen to the plants which helps to stimulate root growth. Plants with ample oxygen in the root system absorb nutrients faster. The nutrients in the Root Spas system are combined with the water and sent directly to the root system. The plant does not have to search in the soil for the nutrients that it requires. Those nutrients are being delivered to the plant several times per day. The plant requires very little energy to find and break down food. The plant then uses this saved energy to grow faster and produce healthy root growth. When the Root Spas are not being used to start plants it also works great with the LED Grow Lights for growing a year-round harvest of salad greens, herbs or other plants. FlexiPots, Coir Mix, Organic Plant Nutrients & Watering Mats
FlexiPots , Coir & Watering Mats FlexiPots Portable Raised Bed System FlexiPots - Portable Raised Bed System After the plant has developed a healthy root structure with the Root Spas System it is placed in the FlexiPots with Organic Nutrients and Coir (coconut) Husks & Chips. The FlexiPot fabric container absorbs heat and insulates, providing a comparable environment to raised beds. Furthermore, as roots near the side of the container, rather than girdle like with most containers, roots “air prune”. This means they form hundreds of root tips rather than a few large roots that eventually become pot bound. Roots only take up nutrients from root ends, so having many small roots versus a few large roots is critical to optimum growth. The FlexiPot's black fabric quickly warms up early season soil enabling plants to get off to a quicker start. Yet the same fabric, due to its porous nature, allows heat to escape from the container through evaporative cooling during the summer's hottest days. Even in northern climates, root systems of container grown plants can be damaged from too much heat. University studies have also shown a direct relationship between soil temperatures and slow-release fertilizer activity. Cooler containers do not allow for premature fertilizer release. As the plants mature and conditions warrant, plants and soft pots can then be moved anywhere. Outside in the garden, a patio, a shelf or left in the greenhouse. Anywhere, no dirt required. Coir (Coconut) Husks & Chips, Organic Nutrient & Watering Mats Plant medium is coir (coconut) husks and chips. Coir is a natural fiber made from coconut husks that hold perfect moisture content for growing plants. Sometimes called Coco Peat, coir makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics, container plant growing, or outdoor gardening. Clean coir has natural rooting hormones and has shown some anti-fungal properties. Recycle the coir after the plants are harvested; the used coir makes an excellent addition to outdoor garden mulch, as it is completely organic. The system comes with over 200 pounds of the coir growing medium. The dry organic nutrient mix provides all the essential needs for lush plant growth and food production. The system comes with 35 pounds of nutrient. Watering mats provide a controlled watering with a minimum of effort. Mats work in a synergistic way with the soft pots to wick the water up to the plants as it is needed. Plant Zone Shelving Thermal Mass Tubs Plant Zone Shelving The 36" aisles give you room to move comfortably through your greenhouse structure while the full-length benches let you take advantage of all the usable growing area. Unique composite framing is designed to give you years of service with absolutely no maintenance required - just put the greenhouse up and use it. A combination of composite tubing (the same material used to make bridges), steel fittings, and PVC provides superior strength and stability against wind and snow. White frame reflects the greenhouse light - sending more light back to your plants. Color-coded, pre-cut greenhouse frame makes assembly easy. Each wide, strong full length shelf holds up to 500 lbs so you can fit a lot of plants in a small area. Steel-reinforced hanging rods run the length of the greenhouse giving you the perfect spot to overwinter your hanging baskets! Thermal Mass Tubs (Purchased Separately) Thermal mass is anything in the greenhouse that absorbs solar energy and heat from the sun during the day and releases that heat at night. Using thermal mass can moderate greenhouse temperatures and may reduce energy costs. Many things can act as thermal mass in the greenhouse, including wood, soil in raised beds, concrete, block, or brick foundations, or even the floor of the greenhouse. The most effective and least expensive thermal mass is water. Water can store far more heat for a given mass than any other commonly available material. Water is also useful because of its latent heat; it release up a tremendous amount of heat energy as it freezes, and often this is just when greenhouse heat is needed most. Tubs are filled with water and are heated by energy efficient aquarium heaters and the sun. (Please note: tubs do not come with unit as they can be purchased much less expensively from home improvement stores).
